@tillerman002 Check out CNET’s comparison of the two machines on my channel to see the true speed of the two products for yourself, the Kindle Fire is hands down a lot slooooowwwwweeeerrrr than the Ipad, that’s for sure!

  9. willhunting1995 says:

@tillerman002 That’s funny because I had one and the streaming video on the Kindle Fire looks really pixelated and it’s far slower than on the Ipad2 which has a processor which runs twice as fast. As for books, the Kindle Fire is primarily an E-reader that has Wifi capabilities, if you only want to read books, then the Kindle should be your choice, however, it is NOT a tablet computer at all, and has only a fraction of the capabilities and power of the Ipad!

  10. tillerman002 says:

@willhunting1995 ever review I’ve seen, the Kindle has beaten the iPad in streaming movies via Netflix. and yes, the books on the Amazon store are rarely over $10. while on iTunes, you can rarely find them for under 10.

  11. willhunting1995 says:

@tillerman002 Those reviews are absolutely incorrect, the Kindle Fire is VERY slow at streaming movies. If you want a better tablet, try the Nook Color which is a far better alternative to the Kindle Fire

  12. tillerman002 says:

@willhunting1995 thanks! I’ll got check it out. A lot of review have said that the Kindle Fire streams Netflix quicker though. Also, on the Amazon store, books are cheaper. Ugh, I’m torn between the two!!!

  13. willhunting1995 says:

@tillerman002 I have an excellent WiFi connection in my house. In fact, it’s cable internet. My Ipad2 runs at lightening speed, with movies streaming quite quickly, I had a LOT of problems running the net with my former Kindle Fire. If you don’t believe me, look at the video in my profile where CNET compares the speed of the two tablets. The Ipad2 runs faster because it’s processor is ten times faster than the Fire’s is! And it’s cooling system is second to none!

  14. tillerman002 says:

@willhunting1995 I have a pretty good Wi-Fi signal throughout my entire house. (Usually four bars on the computer, unless I’m in my room, then I have three) would the internet be…okay at least…there? sorry about spamming this up. :P

  15. willhunting1995 says:

@tillerman002 Try one at Best Buy before buying it. I had a Kindle Fire and I returned it after a few days, because the browser is spotty at best, working sometimes and often not.

  16. tillerman002 says:

@willhunting1995 Really? Ugh. I wish I could afford that. but still. Kindle Fire seems pretty cool.

  17. willhunting1995 says:

I’m normally *very* happy with Amazon products and customer support.
Kindle Fire doesn’t support proxy servers making it a brick at work. Proxy servers are a common security approach at corporations, colleges, and schools. It cannot be ignored. Amazon’s stance that the Fire is an “entertainment” device that has no need for proxy support. This stance ignores several obvious user scenarios:the Silk browser *frequently* fails to load websites like IGN. In all, I returned the Fire after a week.

  18. willhunting1995 says:

@tillerman002 Actually, the Ipad 2 does NOT get hot after long usage, the motherboard has a much better cooling system than Amazon’s Kindle Fire!

  19. tech4156 says:

    title question, answer: NO

  20. tillerman002 says:

@willhunting1995 Be that as it may, its better than a lot of 3 and even 4 hundred dollar tablets. and plus…if you sat there and used an iPad, it’d get hot pretty fast, too. Just saying.

  21. willhunting1995 says:

@tillerman002 Trust me, you get what you pay for, the Kindle Fire gets VERY hot after only using it for about 20 minutes, the power button is on the bottom which makes it easy to accidentally turn off, the web browser is spotty at best and worst offense, NO PASSWORD PROTECTION, which makes it easy for thieves to hack into your account if it’s ever lost, Plus, no camera or microphone. It’s definitely NOT an Ipad killer at all, it’s just a spruced up Kindle, nothing more. I plan to return mine!

Its good to know that, unlike Apple, Amazon actually cares about the fact that not everyone can afford a $500 dollar tablet. Also unlike Apple, they offer as much as they can for as little. I’ll definately be buying this over the iPad 2. :D

I just don’t know who in their right mind puts that up. I mean, it’s cool to be social, but what utility are you or your friends getting from it? I might do it if FB gave me some marketing $ kickback.

  26. Great article, thanks for sharing.
